The Making Waves project was conceived by our Managing Director, Dr David Gibson and it brings together a number of National Marine Aquarium objectives – engaging the public with marine life, promoting Plymouth as a destination, supporting the development of young people and, of course, driving marine conservation through engagement.  The project ultimately has the potential to generate funds to support a range of projects under our conservation through engagement programme, primarily our work with Ocean Sunfish.  The study of the Sunfish, and the engagement of a wide range of water users in the collection of data, will, we hope, lead us all to a better understanding of how our seas are changing and how better we can connect with the sea for the continued health of our communities and our natural environment.

Mount Wise Plymouth Logo

Mount Wise is one of Plymouth’s most prestigious developments.

Phase one of the regeneration project delivered 159 residential homes, which in terms of architecture, complement and enhance the existing setting of the listed buildings and mature landscaped grounds of this historic 28 acre estate. The second phase will form the centrepiece of the project and incorporate a new Square in front of the Grade II listed Admiralty House framing the principle building which itself has planning and listed building consent for a boutique hotel.

Phase 2 will deliver 89 homes, 30 of which will be within the wings of Admiralty House and will be known as Admiralty Row.  There are a mix of 2 and 3 bedroom apartments and houses and these will all benefit from views over the River Tamar and Plymouth Sound.  The other 59 homes will be built around the new Square framing Admiralty House and will be known as Maritime Quarter.

Maritime Quarter adopts the Georgian inspired architecture of Phase 1 and provides a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and 2, 3 and 4 bedroom houses with a variety of aspects of looking out over the River Tamar, the new formal Square in front of Admiralty House and the Cricket Pitch.  www.mountwise.co.uk
